A ring is the most common piece of jewelry used both by men and women alike. While men use simple, wide and thick rings, women normally like to wear attractively designed, light weighted rings. Rings can be made of any metals that can include precious metals like gold, platinum, palladium, silver or even of ordinary metals like steel, etc. They are either designed singularly or are topped up with precious stones and gemstones like pearl, topaz, diamond etc. These are available in various sizes and the cost varies depending upon the metal and its weight, the stone and its size. One can buy according to one's own affordability.
Of all these Diamond Rings are the most favorite among women. They are mostly opted for during very special occasions like engagement and wedding. Apart from this, these Diamond Rings are also widely accepted as fashion statement and status symbolize. The costlier one wears the wealthier he or she is accepted as. Here again the men prefer to wear a single big diamond studded ring while women prefer to have a ring with small sized multi diamond studded rings. But caution should be adopted while purchasing diamonds because there are some of them looks alike that are so similar that it becomes difficult to differentiate the original from the duplicate except for the experienced jeweler. A couple of such cheaper look alike are Cubic Zirconia and Silicon Carbide
So before buying Diamond Rings or that matter diamond or any jewelry with diamond on it one should have some basic idea about diamonds. These can be briefly called the three Cs.
Color - Pure natural diamond is colorless. But there are colored diamonds in shades of blue, yellow, purple, brown, green, pink, orange, red available. This means that they too are diamonds but in a bit impure form containing a small percentage of boron, nitrogen or lattice etc that gives the diamonds the said color.
Cut - The diamond is a great reflector and disperser of light. If one peeps through a diamond one can find that the light that passes through the front is reflected back to the onlooker. This means the diamond is of good quality and is given the proper cut at proper angles to give the maximum beauty of it. In case it is found that the light is not reflecting back, rather is passing through to the other end or on all sides, the cutting undertaken is not proper thereby reducing the quality of the diamond.
Clarity - When we see through the diamond, the different angles that lie within the diamond should be clearly visible. If there is any scratch or flaws this clarity is reduced indicating the impurity of the diamond.
Caret - This is the unit of measurement used for gemstones. The higher the caret the purer and costlier is the diamond. So this is what we were talking earlier. Women prefer to have
Diamond Rings with fewer carets while men prefer to have a big sized higher caret Diamond Rings.
